Lightsong Sufi Center Lightsong Sufi Center, with its home base in Voorburg (near the Hague in the Netherlands) offers spiritual training and retreats in the Esoteric School of the Sufi Order International. The Esoteric School is the branch of the Sufi Order concerned with the training and guidance of mureeds (students). It uses a system of instructions created to present the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, Pir Zia Inayat Khan and other Sufi mystics in an educational framework. The Esoteric School provides possibility for initiation, classes, spiritual retreats, spiritual practices and personal guidance. All international Sufi Order centers are under the direction of a Representative appointed by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan or Pir Zia Inayat Khan. Saki Lee is the center leader for Lightsong Sufi Center, and is assisted by Donna Devine, Marinka ter Haak, Sjoerd van de Wielen, Shahidah Borsboom, and Simone Wils. Lightsong Sufi Center also offers healing circles and retreats within the Healing Order. The Healing Order is dedicated to nurturing our awareness of the divine power of healing invested in the human being. "Healing is looked upon as a gracious act of solidarity with human suffering, inspired by attunement with the Holy Spirit and allowing oneself to become a pure channel for the divine power." (Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan) The Universal Worship (Church of All) is the religious activity of the Sufi Order. It is so named because it aims to promote and honor the underlying unity within the diversity of our world's rich religious traditions. Lightsong Sufi Center offers informal Universal Worship services called "Cosmic Celebrations" in which sacred music, prayers and attunements from the different traditions are shared with the general public. "It is not a mission to promote a particular creed or any church or religion; it is a work to unite the followers of different religions and faith in wisdom, so that without having to give up their own religion, they may strengthen their own faith and focus the true light upon it. In this way, greater trust, greater confidence will be established in mankind." - Hazard Inayat Khan, founder of the Universal Worship - Kinship is that aspect of our spiritual work that focuses on the awakening of conscience. It is the way of the heart in action, in service. This is not merely trying to do good to others, but engaging in the nitty gritty work of personal transformation so that we could be vessels in service to humanity. Lightsong Sufi Center encourages its members to practice outreach in projects, and to lend a helping hand to those in need. As the Sufi mystic-poet Rumi said, "there are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground!"
